The Doyle Family

I had such a great time photographing this adorable family. Naturally, it took a minute for the two kids, Kieran and Katherine, to warm up to me taking their pictures, but as soon as they found out that I was “ticklish,” it seemed that I had made myself a couple of new friends. I loved that I was able to grab a few portraits as well as a few fun shots of the kids just being kids. At one point during our shoot, I asked them if they wanted to go check out a bridge at the park with me, they both exclaimed yes, and I about died in awe after Katherine came back to grab my hand to make sure I was coming with them. Too adorable for words.

Katie & Cody

Katie and Cody invited us out to their family farms in Corydon, IN for their engagement session, where we ran around dodging hot fences and herding cattle while snapping some shots of the two of them. We just photographed Katie’s brother’s wedding last weekend, where she was a bridesmaid in the wedding, so you will definitely be seeing more of her on the blog soon! They have such a sweet family and we absolutely can not wait to work with them again in October for Katie and Cody’s wedding!

We had a pretty large audience during Katie and Cody’s engagement session…

Katie & Quincy

We have been so excited for Katie and Quincy’s wedding ever since they asked us to be their photographers! Katie and Quincy are not only an amazingly fun and energetic couple to hang out with, but always a pleasure to photograph! We spent the day at Hurstbourne Country Club, their reception venue, which provided for an absolutely perfect backdrop for Katie and Quincy’s first look and wedding day portraits. The picturesque venue also holds significant value in the Shannon household since Katie’s parents got married there on the same day 28 years ago. Katie and Quincy’s wedding day was packed full of tears of joy and contagious smiles and laughter. It was clear that everyone in attendance was beyond excited to witness and celebrate these two finally tie the knot.

We absolutely love these photographs captured from Katie’s first look with her father!

After toasting to his newlywed daughter and son-in-law, her father gave a special toast to Katie’s mother, in honor of the day also being their 28th year wedding anniversary.

Summer Mini Sessions

Our next set of mini sessions will be held on Saturday, June 8th! While mini sessions are especially great for parents with young children, they are open to anyone and are great for those looking for a few photos no matter what the occasion. As always, we look forward to seeing old and new faces!

Photographing Our Friends’ Weddings

Having already been out of college for a few years and finding ourselves in our mid-twenties, we are about at the age where a good portion of our friends are starting to tie the knot! Since some of our friends often express the worry that if we photograph their wedding we might not be able to attend and leisurely enjoy the wedding, along with the rest of their guests, we wanted to be sure to dismiss this concern. We are both excited and thrilled that many of our friends call us up after they get engaged to talk about us photographing their special day! While would be just as happy attending their weddings as we would photographing them, there are a few reasons why we especially enjoy photographing our friends’ weddings and we want them to know that we are always honored they want us to play such a big role in their special day!

1.) Our friends can relax and enjoy their day

Brides and grooms put a lot of trust in anyone that they end up booking to be a part of their wedding day. We always focus on building the trust and rapport between our couples from the minute we meet so that they have full confidence that we will be taking care of them and their memories on their special day. Since our friends already know us and are already familiar with our business before booking, they often already feel a sense of comfort and trust that will only grow stronger as their wedding day approaches, allowing them to have a more relaxed and enjoyable wedding day.

2.) We get to spend the entire day together

Photographing our friends’ weddings means that we get to experience the entire day with them, from beginning to end. We get to essentially go behind the scenes and utilize our backstage pass to enjoy all of the wonderful moments, both large and small, that shape the story of their special day. From the first time the bride steps into her dress and shows the first sign of realization that she is getting married or the words and/or glances she briefly exchanges with her father before walking down the aisle, to the inside quirks and jokes that are formed throughout the day; there is something pretty amazing about getting to experience and support our friends throughout their entire wedding day by being by their side to document it all.

3.) The best wedding gift we can give

Helping create and preserve a friend’s wedding day story by utilizing our own time and talents is such a rewarding experience. When you know you were put on this earth to do something, who better to share your talents with than your friends on one of the most important days of their lives? Having the privilege of photographing for our friends makes a job that we already love that much more gratifying and enjoyable. Ultimately allowing us the opportunity to give one of the best wedding presents we could possibly offer to a friend getting married.

While we thoroughly enjoy being given the opportunity to photograph some of our close friends’ weddings, we don’t want to leave out that we also greatly enjoy all of our other couples we photograph who end up becoming new friends of ours! Needless to say, we have one amazingly rewarding job.
